Questions & Answers

questions_and_answersHow does one live sanely in this world of violence and corruption? Is it possible for man to find everlasting security? How does one deal with one's anger, frustration, sexual desire, loneliness, and fear? Is a human being a mere thinking machine or is there something beyond thought? What is true meditation? What is the place of religion in the modern world? Krishnamurti's 'answers' are not readymade solutions; rather, they are meant to provoke more questions in the mind of the listener so that, out of that questioning and skepticism, he goes from the narrow field of problem-solving to the wider expanse of self-knowledge.

Reflections on the Self

reflections on the selfReflections on the Self, edited by Raymond Martin, former professor of philosophy at  the University of Maryland, contains excerpts from J. Krishnamurti's writings and talks on the nature of human emotions, the self and self-identification, inquiry and the pure observation which frees human beings psychologically.

Revolution from Within, The

the_revolution_from_withinThe second volume in the series 'Selections from the Decades', covering the talks given between 1952 and 1959. Here Krishnamurti's focus is primarily on a radical change in the mind and heart of every human being. He says the attempt to change oneself in not a mere psychological exercise but also a religious act; it is not just a matter of digging into oneself endlessly, but also remaining open to that which he calls Truth or Reality.

School without Fear

school without fearThe dialogues in this book School Without Fear are being published sixty years after Krishnamurti held them at Rajghat Besant School, which he had founded on the banks of the Ganges in the early 1930s. From December 1954 to February 1955, he stayed on the campus and talked to teachers and parents.

Social Responsibility

social_responsibilityA theme book compiled from talks and writings.

Krishnamurti says in this book: "Social reforms may be brought about through legislation or through tyranny, but unless the individual radically changes, he will always overcome the new pattern to suit his psychological demands” which is what is happening in the world."
