The focus of life at Vasanta Vihar, begins at The Study which is open to guests on the campus & visitors from the city. It has a complete range of Krishnamurti’s works, biographies and memoirs of Krishnamurti, including a large collection of audio CDs, DVDs, and MP3s, monographs, select books on religion, philosophy, psychology, science etc., as also the bulletins and newsletters of the Krishnamurti Foundations.

Tuesday to Friday:
9.30 am to 5.30 pm

Saturday & Sunday:
9.30 am to 6.30 pm

Guest Accommodation

Vasanta Vihar welcomes guests who wish to stay solely for the purpose of a quiet retreat and the study of Krishnamurti’s Teachings.

Since we have only a few guest rooms, prior notice of 15 days is required to confirm accommodation. Simple vegetarian food is served. Guests are requested to refrain from smoking, drinking, and using drugs on the campus nor is the place meant for transit purposes such as shopping or sight seeing. This place should not be used for meeting friends or to do business transactions.

Archives

The vast corpus of Krishnamurti literature in the form of manuscripts, transcripts, audio & video recordings, letters and so on is preserved scientifically in the Archives.  There is also provision in the Archives to help scholars who wish to do academic research on Krishnamurti’s teaching.

Book shop

We have a bookshop on the campus, which has books by and about Krishnamurti, audio CDs, DVDs, and MP3s. Also available are the KFI Bulletinthe Journal of Krishnamurti Schools (both available on subscription), our periodicals, the Vasanta Vihar Newsletter, in English and also Indian language newsletters in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Resident Students Scheme

Individuals, especially but not restricted to the young, wishing to study Krishnamurti’s work in depth either for their own understanding or as a scholar, over an extended period are offered the facility of staying for a period of three months at Vasanta Vihar which may be extended to a longer period whenever desired. Their study is not structured. They are free to make use of the facilities offered by the Study/Library.

Opportunities are also available for them to interact with residents and also to assist in any of the areas of activity at Vasanta Vihar. Over the years this scheme has attracted many young people from India and abroad.
